In 1974, filmmaker Michael Alessandro de Gaetano led a team of creatives in Georgia to make his directorial debut, "UFO: Target Earth".

Combining science fiction plot devices, a horror tone, and a study of characters disconnected with society, "UFO: Target Earth" would mark the beginning of a directing career for de Gaetano that would go on to include such horror cult classics as "Haunted" (1977) and "Project: Metalbeast" (1995), as well as the acclaimed indie comedy "Butch Camp" (1996).

Gila Films has now acquired this overlooked regional gem and will be undertaking a 4K restoration from original camera elements for a 2023 release. Until then, we hope you'll enjoy this (very rough) presentation of the film's original trailer, which has not been seen in decades.

Please note: this video has been taken from a raw, 1080p test scan of the original 35mm trailer elements and does not represent the trailer or the feature's final look.

The intro song "Between the Ceiling and the Sky" is so good!

I've seen the film. Sorry, don't much care for it, think it's pretty boring. However, it's interesting that the filmmakers had good taste in 20th century classical music. The music in the trailer is the opening of Ralph Vaughan Williams' 4th Symphony and towards the end of the film, they used De Natura Sonoris no. 2 by Krzysztof Penderecki. Didn't know The Association did the song for the film's opening credits. Interesting. Not a bad song either.
