Hello friends. I just spent a few days clearing the build site of my property where I will be building a log cabin. Finally, a new video is here!
In this epizode I am building concrete pillars, I'm splitting a log and more!

===============================

More about me:

When I was 20 years old, I dropped out of college and said to myself that I will do what I really want and what I see meaning in. So I decided to build my dream log cabin, all by myself, in the middle of an off-grid bush.
After I left school, I went to work for a while to earn money for trees and hand tools. I spent all the money I earned and my savings on it. Thank God, I already owned the land I have - I got it from my dear parents as a gift and I also bought another part of the land with my own money.

I chose a log cabin for my home because I like it. I build it with the vision of living a simple and peaceful life in it. Having time is more important to me than having money. Of course, nowadays a person cannot live without money, but I would like to live in such a way that my expenses are not so high and thus reduce the need for money. I want to have time not only for myself, but also for my future wife and children. That's why I will try to build the most self-sufficient life possible, in which my own housing, in my case a log cabin, will be the heart of this system.

I chose the traditional method of building - using only hand tools because they are my favorite. There is beauty in simplicity.
Working with hand tools has several advantages: You are able to work off-grid, the entire set of tools you need can fit in one bag, there is better safety when you work alone, you don´t make too much noise when you´re working... so I enjoy it more and I believe you will too, while watching :)
My dear father is a carpenter. I remember that most of the things he taught me while working with wood were precisely while working with hand tools, which required the most attention and practice from me.
My father taught me how to work with wood from a young age, but I have no experience with building a log cabin, so I'm learning everything as I go, and I'm looking forward to what this experience will teach me.

It may not seem like it, but it was a big struggle to get this opportunity to be able to work on my dream, but I finally did it and for that I am incredibly grateful. I also started this YouTube channel where I share my entire journey, so if you are interested, you can check it out. There is no one behind the camera, so I do all the filming and editing myself. I would also be very grateful if you would support my journey by subscribing or sharing, if you want to.
Thank you for being here, I really appreciate it and I'm glad you're watching. I will try to make videos as best as I can, so that you get the greatest enjoyment from them.
Thank you all for your attention. Enjoy!

All the money that will be donated through PayPal will be invested back into the cabin.

Well done Matthias, well done! The first thought that came to my mind was this; the patience of Job.

I am loving your videos and they make me wish I was 20 years younger. I would have skipped nursing degree and masters degree. I had always been drawn to wood working and carpentry but in my younger years it never dawned me all of the things you could do with it. What a blessing to have the skills you have and kudos to your dad for getting you started when you were younger so that you would be able to figure things out like how to build a log cabin later in life! I wish I could hire you to build one for me and all my dogs and cats! 🥴

Very clever and handy idea to incorporate rocks in the concrete pillars! And very interesting to see how you made them, I have a wooden house too and will need to re-build the entrance parts from scratch, including the foundation/pillars on which the wooden part then stands. Your video definitely gave me some inspiration!

Enjoying your videos on the cabin build! It is amazing what can be done when you put your mind to it. Got to the part where you finished making the burgers and I had to stop the video to get something to eat! Man they look good!! Keep up the good work! Looking forward to the rest of your videos.

Hooked from the get-go and look forward to the next video. Kudos to your dad for the wood working skills he taught you growing up. It's fascinating to watch you do everything with just the tools. And those burgers were the bomb. I can only imagine the flavor cooked on that fire. 😊

big love to you mon. I built my own log home with me hands too. Its been a few years, now I am starting to think about how rad it all is. how the hard work paid off. like bob mackie said in his book, nobody will see the tree when it falls but you. nobody will know how hard it was but you. this is your thing, and they cannot take this away from you for I ever.
