🪫Mobility Scooter Batteries 101

Показать описание
Whether you own a mobility scooter or power wheelchair, most powered-mobility devices use either Sealed Lead Acid OR Lithium batteries.

If the device you own works with SLA batteries, then it most likely has 2, 12-volt batteries. There are a few things that matter when it comes to SLA batteries which are the volts, the capacity and the AMP rating for the charger. All batteries and chargers have labels on them that tell you the chemistry type, voltage, capacity and output (for chargers).

Most mobility scooters, like the GoGo scooter, have a battery case which you can open up and if you do, you'll find 2 batteries inside. Here is a link to the video that shows you how to replace the batteries on a Go Go mobility scooter.

With lithium batteries, the same factors apply, you need to know the volts, the capacity (AH) and you need to know what type of charger it requires. Lithium batteries must be charged by Lithium chargers.

Thanks for the informative video I've been using mobilty scooters for the last 12 years for outdoor events (NHRA and Car shows etc..) The battle for the best battery has been a pain. My go to scooter is the Go Go Sport 4wheel because of transport ease. Have tried various battery brands (5 or 6) over the years and various amp hours that will fit, 18 thru 22. None have really seemed to live up to what they advertise. Which would you recommend for the longest lasting. I see the gel and lithium is a longer lasting battery but the terminals are different. Thanks for any help or info.
