What do you think about Speed Square Throwing? 😎Shut out to McNally 🔪

The square is an everyday tool that no one will question you carrying with you, so been able to weaponise it is simply awesome!

Excellent video, Adam. You've demystified the speed square throwing; hopefully, this video will make it outside the throwing community. And hopefully, it'll stop some McNally fans from hurting themselves by trying to imitate his throwing.
Disclaimer- I watch his lock picking videos, myself. haha

Surprised it survived all that, and I knew you would figure out how to stick it 😀

The one good thing about the rebounds: If you have good enough reflexes, you can do some Captain America moves!

Speed square throwing is only appropriate when you screw up a cut on your last piece of wood after measuring twice and the Home Depot is 30 min away 😂

Hey Adam, I just wanted to say thank you. Again. I say again, since I'm pretty sure I thanked you in one of your no-spin tutorial vids. That's what got me interested earlier this year, in the "impalement arts" (apparently it was called that back in the day, awesome.)

I started with a small, cheap set of Perfect Point 'Thunderbolts.' Great for the price, terrible for a beginner though. It didn't help that my target wasn't the best nor was my place to practice. And while I did get some success using the "hammer" grip, it wasn't consistent. I knew something was off with my technique but I didn't know what, so I was just going to keep trying (and probably failing, ) until I saw another of your videos. "What knives to avoid, " if I recall correctly. After seeing it, I knew I needed something larger. Something I could hold using the same grip (though I'd be switching from "hammer" back to the grip you use), consistently, while not needing to throw as hard as those thunderbolts, which are super light.

I bought 3, JXE-JXO symmetrical knives (cheap, solid, durable) and started taking things slower. Making sure I was using the same stance, the same grip, trying to hit the same spot with the same amount of force. I started to get a feel for it.
I still lacked consistency though, sticking one or two out of every 10 throws. And being 100+ degree Texas heat, tends to impede practice a bit.... Turns out knives are made of metal.... And metal gets hot in the sun.

The reason I'm typing this (I know, get to the point, ) is that this morning, on my first throw, barely expecting much and barely paying attention. Without trying any new techniques or changing anything I did physically.... something clicked.
It stuck, close to dead center of where I was aiming. Without thinking, I immediately followed up, landing just below the first.

I grab the third, thinking "this ain't happening...."

Bro I can't even describe the way it felt when it hit, seeing all three tightly grouped on target. And the SOUND the last one made when it slid between the other two at a slightly different angle. Like the first time I ever got a ringer playin horseshoes, but better. And I knew I could do it over and over and over. Which I did, ALL DAY TODAY.
Now I sit here at 3am typing this out, to again say thank you. It was your ""no-spin tutorial" as well as all your other videos, that both taught me to throw and kept me motivated. Because of you I learned to throw. And because of that, I can sit here confidently and say, in one day, I went from throwing with 10% accuracy, to now throwing with 90-95% accuracy on a target that's no wider than 4 inches. I can stand at the target, pick a spot on it, turn around and walk 5 paces, turn and throw. Without hesitation, hitting the mark. I can even hit things that I throw up in the air (which I never even imagined I'd be doing and is surprisingly easier than I thought it'd be.)

Sorry for the long windedness of this but I'm so damn happy. I can't wait to throw more tomorrow. Keep up the awesome throwing, the awesome vids and if you have any upcoming events, good luck my friend!

I love your videos. I’ve been getting into knife throwing recently and the videos have really helped improve my technique. I even just recently bought myself some actual throwing knives.

I'd imagine you could either stick it and use it like that or have it just be blunt force and have it fly back to you.
also if you need a weapon out in public for whatever reason and don't want to get in trouble for it, nobody expects a speed square.
