This solution never gets old:

Acorn gets home. His dad asks him how was school. Acorn starts describing it when he suddenly point a finger in the air and says; "And Here Comes The Giant Fist" out of nowhere.

The dad looks up, instantly gets squished/beat up by the Giant Fist, then Acorn remembers what Mom said in her joke: exactly what happened to dad.
