God brings dead things to life- just like He did the dry bones. He restores and breathes in new life.

Yesterday we saw in Ez 36 God changing hearts of stone into living, loving hearts. Today, we don’t see heart-change, but rather God’s power over empires, armies, economies, and cultures. Mesheck and Tubal, the lands of Gog, seem to be infamous throughout the world and no one would doubt their power. But God is reassuring us, as Jesus does at Matt 16:3 and Lk 12:56 when He mentions understanding the “signs of the time, ” that God will make His name known among everyone who denies Him. If that doesn’t speak to today’s day and age, I’m not sure what will! “In this way, I will demonstrate my glory to the nations. Everyone will see the punishment I have inflicted on them and the power of My fist when I strike. And from that time on the people of Israel will know that I am the Lord their God” (Ez‬ ‭39‬:‭21‬-‭22‬). In days of fear, we have nothing to fear, because God will protect His people with the power of His name.

Amen! God is so gracious. We may not always understand all his ways. But we have to trust His character.

“They will never again pollute themselves with their idols and vile images and rebellion, for I will save them from their sinful apostasy. I will cleanse them. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This verse remind me of not only what our relationship with God should look like, but also how loving and knowledgeable he is of human nature, he is trying to save us from ourselves. God is so good. God bless y’all!

God commands life. He gives breath to matter. His plans for restoration are beyond comprehension.

"So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army." Ezekiel 37:10 NIV

God, help us stand ready for the final days. Lord forgive us, guide us. We don't deserve your provision, but help my heart be eternally grateful.

It is an interesting contrast between today’s reading where God uses the four winds to breath life into His army versus the account of Adam’s creation in Genesis where God Himself breathes life into him. Genesis 2:7 “the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

Aloha, praise the Lord, and good morning BR family. He wants to give us new heart. Proverb 13:20, "He that walketh with the wise men shall be wise; but a companion of fools shall be destroyed". That's where I want to be with wise men not a companion fools. Glory be to God because he is where the JOY is!!!

Ezekiel 37 is a reminder to me of what makes our faith distinct from all other religions: the resurrection of the dead! And that’s what God does. Death doesn’t have the final word.

So many amazing ways the dry bones vision has been fulfilled in history. Like when the first believers believed and were filled with the Holy Spirit after Jesus rose from the dead and went back to heaven.

We also see this vision fulfilled in the rebirth of Israel in 1948 out of the ashes of the holocaust. Definitely proof that God kept his promises.

Day 251
Ezekiel 37-39
Chapter 37
God gives Ezekiel a vision of a valley with dry bones.
Through Ezekiel, God commands the bones to live.
This is God‘s command, not Ezekiel’s. God did the miracle. Ezekiel obeyed God.
This vision represents the 12 tribes of Israel and Judah. God will give them new life and bring them back into their land.
In Genesis, we see God create Adam out of the dust of the ground and breathe life into him.
Breathe here is the word Ruack which is translated to the word Spirit.
Interestingly, God does not command the bodies to breathe. He commands the breath to enter the bodies.
God has Ezekiel perform an act with sticks to represent the tying and merging together of Israel and Judah once again.
God will set a new Shepherd over them, Jesus the messiah who is to come. From the line of David, the king of Israel.
Chapter 38
Gog represents those who represents God’s enemies.God says this will be in the latter days. Most think this is a yet to be fulfilled prophecy about the end times.
In these latter days, Israel and Gog will be dwelling securely alongside each other. But Gog will show up and attack them.
God does this to remind the nations surrounding Israel, not to mess with His people.
God will demonstrate his dominance over a powerful enemy.
God will send earthquake, fire, pestilence, and mass confusion to them.
The chapter closes with then they will know that I am the Lord.
Chapter 39
God also sends fire upon the homeland of the enemy.
God will turn all the enemies weapons into fuel for His people. They will get the spoils of a war. They did not even have to fight.
God takes the enemies efforts to destroy His people to bless them instead.
Like Joseph, who said to his brothers who sold him into slavery, you meant this against me, but God used it for my good.
Nothing about this is fair.
Undeserved generosity is what God gives His people who have rebelled and been forgiven.
He gives new hearts to love Him with. He gives a new Spirit to empower for obedience.
He gives an eternal kingdom to inherit! No one is like Him!!
This is our God!
