Rent is higher. You have to pay your landlords mortgage and they want to make a profit. Rent is not cheaper.

If you can get a fixed rate on the interest, and have a good amount for the down payment, then pay your own mortgage rather than pay for her mortgage.

this is crazy. yeah sure i'll pay this "cheap" rent for the rest of my life. or i can eat rice and beans for 30 years and bam its mine. oh and in that 30 years my house value would probably at least double. what does 30 years of rent get you? evicted coz you missed 2 payments

😅 Who is she listening to? Buying is cheaper than renting. I don't even pay a 1000 from my mortgage. And you think that it is cheaper to pay 2 and 3000 dollars for a rent? For a piece of shed apartment than it is to buy a house. Yeah, no😅

Thank you, Barbara, for speaking on this. My husband and I are expecting our first child in 3 months we have tried so hard to save for our first home but these prices and the competition with these large companies offering cash for homes just to turn around and rent them out and a crazy price is just killing my dream of ever seeing our son run around in his own backyard.
