Briere is finally doing what us fans have wanted for the last 10 years: REBUILDING

Love this for Philly. Huge W with what they get back. Lots of young talent

As a Jackets fan I love this move. The Jackets aren’t as bad as their record indicates. The team suffered from bad injury luck, and terrible coaching, and both of those problems should hopefully go away next season.

I’m a flyers fan but I get this for CBJ. Yeah they stunk this year, but they were devastated by injuries and bad coaching. Laine, Gaudreau, Werenski, etc are guys in their primes. The team is in good shape. It just needs a few more pieces.

Love this trade for everyone

The reason people are surprised trades can happen now is because in EA GM modes you have to wait until the draft lol

I hope Provorov boosts the Jackets’ defense considerably. We really need it.

The Kings actually did it...they dumped Cal Petersen's contract.

Never thought I'd see this day.

With Mateychuk, Svozil, and Knazko coming down the pipeline on the left side, acquiring Provorov fits the timeline for the CBJ.

EDIT: They're paying him 4.7 a year for 2 years, at which point they can choose to let him walk or move him at the deadline. Mateychuk and Svozil in particular, get time to develop in the A while Provorov and Bean are your bottom 4 LHD in that time.

I feel like Columbus is a real dark horse in this league. They have a lot of young talent, and i feel like Laine is gonna have a huge year playing alongside Geudrau.
If they can be healty in the coming 3-4 years, they are gonna be a good team

This looks like a win-win-win deal. Kings do this to make cap room to sign Gavrikov and hopefully Korpisalo or acquire another goaltender. Philly gets a ton futures and nearly all of them have possible future potential. CBJ gets their DMan for Babcock.

Good for the flyers and columbus. Maybe a late first is a little bit too much for him but they got lots of propsects and the third pick this year anyway. Gonna be interesting to see how CBJ will develop over the next seasons.

Provorov just stagnated the last few years. I think he could have a great season in Columbus. Part of the problem is that Provorov wants to play more offensively and he wasn’t being used that way because Philly needed him to play big minutes and be their de facto number 1 all-around defenseman.

As a blue jackets fan, I like the trade we needed a defensive man that isn’t injury prone and that the fact he is only 25, prolly not gonna happen but if we get carter hart I would do happy we need a young goalie

One detail you got wrong, Grans might be 6’3”, but the offense to his game is actually his most impressive trait, not his defensive ability. If he’s actually being viewed as a defensive defenseman, then it seems like LA had no clue what they got on their hands and tried to make him a shutdown guy though

Good move by the Jackets. Having the Kings retain some salary only means more is to come.

The Flyers rebuild are off to a promising start. Still a long way to go obviously, but one could only pray that Chuck Fletcher would be able to facilitate a trade like this. Surprised that they even landed a first in what is a really good draft and a second for Provorov considering he had three underwhelming seasons in a row. Taking bad contracts in return for assets is also a positive sign that this actually is a rebuild and not a short-term kind off thing. Pleased with this trade and there´s hopefully more coming from Briere and Jonesy!

I think playing on the second pair behind Z in Columbus will help provorov greatly. He’s a cheaper Gavirkov with a much higher ceiling.

Jackets have really nice team on paper.

Lets go! I am so happy briere was able to pull this off; FIRST TRADE EVER? Like, how is this possible. I would have taken a first for him.
I just hope he doesnt trade hart. I see top 3 nhl goalie in him, and vezina winner in him.

As a blue jackets fan this trade gives me plenty of mixed feelings. I think Provorov could look really good with us, but I also think Jarmo is maybe trying too hard to force an end to the rebuild. I could see Philly drafting a player at 22nd overall that is better than Provorov. If Willander, Gulyayev, or Simashev is available at 22, then that's going to hurt to see. Great trade for Philadelphia.
