Labour has launched radical proposals to require private companies to hand over an up to a 10% share of their equity to workers, with any surpluses funding public services and welfare.

As well as unveiling plans for worker dividends in his speech to the Labour Party conference in Liverpool, John McDonnell also announced sweeping plans to bring water, power, Royal Mail and the UK's railways back under public ownership, said that Labour would crackdown on tax avoidance, "end Treasury bias against regions", and called for a General Election over the Government's "failures" over Brexit.

Liked a lot of what was said here and agreed with a large portion of it. People are going to call these kinds of policies radical and Marxist and dangerous, but in truth they are basically the same kinds of democratic, collectivist economic policies that have worked incredibly well in Scandinavian countries for around 30-40 years. It's ironic how most countries praise and laud the equality, democracy and high living standards in those countries and nobody calls them radical or dangerous. Yet, when Labour wants to introduce them here, our MSM and our elites scream socialist and dangerous radicals and do all they can to denigrate and ridicule them.

However, my only complaint is that it would have been nice if, when talking about the anniversary of the financial crash, McDonnell had said although we were in power at the time of the crash, that brand of Labour had far more in common with neo-liberal Thatcherism than the one me and Jeremy are creating. Me and Jeremy want a Labour Party true to the founding principles, values and Ideology of the Labour movement. That would have been an excellent touch and given the Blairites a damn good kicking

Another great touch when he was talking about tax avoidance would have been to point out that May's own husband is the chief exec of capital Group. A company that specialises in setting up Tax Havens and exploiting 'legal' tax loopholes. The company he works for was heavily criticised and highlighted in both the Panama and Paradise Papers scandal. He should have driven that point home and then asked: Is it any wonder the Tories aren't closing tax loopholes when the PMs own husband works for a company that sets them up? That would have been absolutely amazing.
