Great carry, wonderful combination.
I am thinking of getting me a AD15 Lite, maybe for Christmas.
I love the SR1, and have to say, that my SR1 Lite is a great knife. The "low tier steel" 8Cr13MoV is not half as bad as people say. It takes an ultra sharp, toothy edge and holds it long enough. Once a week I use the ceramic plate of the Worksharp TriBrasive guided Benchstone for honing the blade. Two swipes on both sides of the blade brings back the catsclaw sticky sharp edge. It is all in the heat treat, they say, and they are right. The thick blade stock helps with the stability. Over all it is a tank of a knife for a reasonable price.
I can't help, I have to praise (yes, I said praise.. ) the Worksharp TriBrasive guided Benchstone. With a 320 and 600 grit diamond plates, together with the 1200 grit ceramic plate, I became much better in freehand sharpening. Only the first few weeks I used the angle guards, until I found out that most knives tend to have a smaller angle than 20°, most of my folders come with a 17° or sometimes 15° edge angle per side.
So I went with the "Neves Knives"-method, laying the blade flat on the stone, lifting the blade until the shadow of the edge disappeares. Then making a mark where the spine meets the thumb/index finger. Then use this marks.
This method gives you a great, consistent angle on both sides of the apex, and makes you giving the knife just about the pressure on the stone.
Man, never had sharper knives! It's just like you have to talk about "dangerous sharp" knives. The 1200 grit toothy edge gets stopped, but only 4 - 10 timed a side, you don't want to strop away the micro serrations on the edge.
This edge will catch 6lbs monifile fishing line and split it.
I said it before, my free hand sharpening went better and better, starting with the guided field sharpener with the two diamond plates, the ceramic rod and the strop, and it improved a lot with the Guided TriBrasive Benchstone.
