Appreciate your videos - very useful for fellow X3 owners. As an alternative to using the Active HDR setting, I just go into the video settings and bump the color setting up to Vivid. It's my understanding that Active HDR requires more in-camera processing and makes the camera heat up faster - did you find that to be the case?

Definitely a difference. Colors more vivid. I live in Cali where the days are bright (most of the time) so will be switching over to HDR. Like your vids. TY.

Can one opt for active HDR in the app setting instead of directly choosing the active HDR mode in the camera. In other words, is it possible while processing a normal video through the app.

Hello @restless Creative, Does the camera overheat ? I just bought mine and it gets hot pretty quick. Have you tried a long HDR video ? Does it shutdown automatically ?

Don’t know if anyone has had this problem. I was filming snowboarding in HDR and all went well, the next day filming again at the same ski resort the footage was unusable, overexposed blown out 🤬. So I reset the x3 and all went well the 3rd day .
Since then I’ve seen other peoples videos blown out maybe because of bright sunshine ? If this is the case I think that us non camera experts should be warned because the footage that I lost is unrepeatable 🤬🤬🤬

This comparision is no good at all. You made your test during overcast weather, when scene tonal dynamic is low, so it isn't strange, that Active HDR does very, very, VERY little to recording. You have to try it during sunny weather - that should show some major differences.
