The x4 is more dynamic and real, X3 feels flat. That’s without mentioning the difference in HDR quality. so many people in the comments worried about the money, they end up lying to themselves so they don’t feel bad for owning an older model.

If scuba diving is your thing don’t buy the X4.
The X4 has a dive case preset which has 8K video. Today I wanted to try my new dive case during a snorkel. I was surprised that it stopped because of ‘over heating’. Or so it notified. Very frustrating for sure. I suspect this overheating problem will be ironed out in the X5.

There is the same gyro and software stab on the two. Difference is power for video filtering and resolution.

I have x3 I don't see an actual reason to upgrade. Besides the 8K what else is new on the X4? Something that actually justifies upgrading???

x3 stabilisation looks better but the h4 dynamic range is better. I wonder if some of those highlights in the 3 is recoverable but just wasnt edited.

I think it's up to the software. Bc this camera has no gimball, so Insta360 could just update them and make it equally good.

But one thing to notice being categorized as action cam X4 is much bigger and clumsy to handle when you do actual action
X3 is not any better for action though 😂
