It was horrible to Cennet to see her dreams vanished ( becoming a Sultana). And her past was interesting she completely graciously agreed to give up her freedom and become a slave to the Sultan because of poverty (which was terrible at that time). It shows the dilemmas of that time: being free but starving, or becoming a slave trying to survive but partly never starving.
Frankly I would have given to see an AU in which Cennet becomes a Valide it would be epic
