“Your greatest gift to me and I’m killing him…”
I was crying when I first saw this.

The most overlooked thing about this Dracula isnt his character, design nor his power but the voice actor.

Dracula was so well written in this show. Genuinely felt for his every action, and understood why he did what he did.

The most wholesome thing of this scene is the thought that Dracula, the most terrifying creature to ever exist, took time to craft something other than a weapon of war or an impliment of science. He truly loved his family.

After so many millenia of hatred, bloodshed, isolation and being so far above humanity, Dracula still had a modicum of genuine love left in him for the only thing left to him: his boy.

I can honestly say i cried during this scene. Dracula was a broken man staight up. A broken man with alot of power and will to enact his revenge upon the people he deemed to be apart of his wifes death. He also was hoping to die in the middle of all of it he was abroken delusional man who didnt come back too til he almost killed his son. Some of his conversations with issac only a few moments where his humanity came through. He was honestly a well written character to me he isnt a villain nor a hero just a broken man with power.

God dude, everything about Castlevania was fucking perfect. I would do anything to watch it for the first time again

I would like to note that Dracula was not at his full strength. He was starving himself and was becoming mentally unstable. I have little doubt that if he wanted them truly dead, they would be.

God such a great scene, crazy how much Alucard looks like his mother.

The delivery when he says "I must already be dead" is one of the more heart-rending moments in this series.

He wasnt even drinking blood and he had to basically give up to be defeated...dude was a savage. Imagine if he had truly desired to exterminate humans instead of just lashing out erratically out of depression and anger.

A non-depressed actually vengeful dracula would have been a apocalypses led by Dracula themselves, with a army as a reserve, a end to a race done in a matter of days instead of months to a year like how it was in the show.

As a Father this scene made me weep. When the weight of how much you love your child hits you it hits with the weight of the universe.

Interesting thing I noticed, but we get a moment of seeing the pair in the reflection of a round mirror as Alucard stabs Dracula. As vampires they should have no reflections, but in that moment, they're just a father and son for one last moment, neither men nor monsters.

Alucard: all you wanted was to die father.
Dracula: no, I am already dead.

Voice actor did such an amazing job portraying how truly broken Dracula was both mentally and emotionally, standing there in the shattered remnants of his fondest memories
