Edit It seems my Arc B580 does not play well with my Elgato 4K X capture card. Even when set to 4K 60, it records at 4K 30FPS. But I will change some settings for next time.

The temps on the 5080 were pretty impressive at least

insane temps, power consumption and performance

Very nice. I am a bit disappointed that it wasn't that X80 class leap we've been accustomed to right. But at the same time another angle of looking at it is that a 5080 OC is basically like 95% of a 4090 but way less power draw.

that seems really good for 4k gaming. looking forward to their widespread availability!

I upgraded from a RTX 2080 super. Managed to get a FE RTX 5080 at MSRP. With OC I think it’s a huge performance jump for me. DLSS4 is amazing I barely notice the difference compared to native.

Wow, you weren't kidding. Those temps are incredible on the 5080.

LET'S NOT FORGET HOW MUCH LESS ELECTRICITY THE 5080 USES

The memory temp is surprisingly good even with that overclocked, wow !

5080 uses 32gbps modules from samsung and they are downclocked to 30gbps. So by adding +2000 ur running it at its rated spec.

Believe Nvidia limited the memory to give the core more of the power budget as its not bandwodth starved.

Going from a 3090 to a 5080 OC was an upgrade for me.

5080 has pretty good OC potential, reaching close to a 4090 double the price aint bad.. still could have been better tho

As someone with a 2080ti who hasn’t upgraded yet, I managed to get a 5080 and seeing this, the 5080 OCed was definitely a good buy for me! Can’t wait for Wilds

Nice comparison. I got the FE model for the actual MSRP last week and have it OCed to similar values. The fact that it trades blows with a 4090 but draws way less power is a nice win. I upgraded from a 3080 (sold that so my total upgrade cost is $600) so for me it's been a huge upgrade, and I can now play games at 4K again. I also don't mind using DLSS4 as to my eyes, it looks practically like native.

Upgraded to FE 5080 last week . I was sceptical for the price tag of $1100 with tax (since most 5070tis are around $900 and above and asus prime is almost $1000 so I don't wanna spend that much more than msrp on 5070tis)but really impressed with its performance/efficiency and oc potential even for this FE card . With +500 on core and 2000 mem temps are vell below 70c. Its well worth it over 5070ti

Temperature and power usage are very very good on 5080, this real improvement

Did you check the performance whilst OCing the memory? The GDDR7 will error correct and reduce performance rather than showing any artifacts.

Considering how close performance of OC 5080 is to 4090 and still using much less power I would say that 5080 would be good substitute of 4090 IF Nvidia didn't bonked it with vram amount, which is big shame because with 4090 out of stock we are have massive gap in performance to 5090.

Also what is up with the super low quality of reflection in Cyberpunk on 5080 at 7:32? Is it because of newer driver (566 vs 571) ?

you can do +3000 memory with nvidia inspector

I will say the 4090 looked a lot smoother onscreen
