I remember when i was a kid i changed the safe code filled with my grandparents valuables there was no "secret key code" that would have helped out a lot but alas my grandparents had to get a locksmith.

I work at a Luxury Hotel and wrote the training SOP for Safemark safes in our rooms. There is not secret universal code. Only way to open a Safemark safe is with a EHO device with a secret pin and or using the bypass slot with a custon key and core.

Those portable safe bags, easy. Take a knife to them or just lockpick them with a bit of tension on the keyway and bind the combination disks until you feel a loose spot

I’m glad my parents took their common sense and not used one. The last time we ever went on vacation they saw that feature you have to pay for, but you don’t but I will never try to save at any hotel ever again.

Years ago when I travelled throughout Europe (before hotel safes) I used to loosen the hem on the drapes in the room and slide my money and valuables in the hem....

Savvy worldtraveller used once only roomsafe...got up at 4 a.m. to catch early flight. Arrived at airport...forgot to take passport out of safe. Just put it in moneybelt, during day under clothes, at night under pillow. Sweet dreams. The less you have, the less worries and sorrows. I never got robbed.

The thing the person was talking about is the override code. Most hotel safes have a default code that the hotel is supposed to change but in order to enter this code, you need to enter the superuser mode, usually down by pressing pound twice.

Once in Indonesia my teammates money was stolen from safe inside the room. Since then i never think to use any safe in the hotels around the world.
