Find something you love, and do it as a hobby. Find something you're good at, and do it as a career, and if you're really lucky, those two things might overlap.

It's about knowing the difference between fantasy and reality.

This should have been told to me 20 years ago. It's as true as gravity.

Your passions change as you mature, so glad I did not choose a career in candy and Hot Wheels.

He is so right. Since I was 12 always wanted to be a nurse. My mother said, do you want to clean bedpans all your life? So I went into criminal law, which I didn’t like seeing young people in prison for minor offenses like not paying parking tickets! Went back to school became a cardiovascular nurse, if I had to clean a bedpan, it was a joy because it’s what I wanted! 👍

I love history and believe we need to teach it to the younger generations so I started in college for that. Didn't even make it a semester before I realized it wasn't for me and switched to my local community college to get an associates in automotive technology because I love that as well as being extremely good at it!

This is the first time I hear some sound advise for kids in the U.S.
I wish our schools would teach and help students find the skill they are good at . I can only imagine how much more evolved we would be as a race if we were to start thinking this way.

Make sure your skill pays the bills. Or, figure out how to pay the bills with your skill.

Very good advice. We can not follow our heart. Logic goes out the window!
You ask what is best for the family, friends and myself. Thought processing and decision making is difficult. Pray is an excellent tool as well for those believers.

I am so happy I was born in 75 and none of that nonsense was told to us. We were told to work hard and be there early

“Just be faster and less stupid than the rest of your coworkers and you’ll be fine.” were once words spoken to me by a trusted colleague. Simple but truthful advice for many career paths, 🤣

My brother loved to paint. My mother got him paint -by- number pictures when he was a kid. In high school he took art. Art class was all he talked about. In college, he majored in Art, and now, he sells his paintings. I am so proud of my brother.

High school diploma....I build pallets for our stores. I lost 50lbs. I love coming to work to guys with humor...makes the day go by faster. And guys who can't take it, won't make it

💯 on this. Many people ignore their skill. Which in turn will always guide you to a greater fulfillment. Even if it pays less, it will all fall into place.

This advice is important. I've never had much self confidence yet I have done all the hard work in life. I am working in customer service now and recently been promoted spent my life in factories, cleaning, retail then a call centre no regrets. Got told by my (much younger) colleague you come in too early etc. That's why I get left alone and not moaned at by our management. I'm not a walkover though as in my junior role I would be the same way but if my team leader said anything to me or my team I would stand up for us or myself. My passion and hobby is history xx.

There has been a rising passion of people who want other people to give them things. But they find other people don't always do that, voluntarily.

My husband and I are skilled at renovating fixer houses we don't "love" it but we are extremely good at it, and we became financially secure very quickly by following our skill set.
