Hailing from San Francisco, Provoker presents the listener with dark, lo-fi and New-Wave-tinged Post-Punk featuring heavy, thudding percussion, grimy synths, prominently-featured and gritty bass guitar, despondant vocals and buzzing guitar riffs that come together to create a highly enjoyable dark and dingy atmosphere. "Beauty in simplicity" describes the songwriting throughout the Dark Angel EP, with nothing being too flashy or technical, but the execution keeps it from being boring and the length of each track is perfect, as nothing overstays its welcome.
