Decision to grant U.S. billionaire quarantine exemption wasn't political, says Bill Blair

Public Safety Minister Bill Blair says an American billionaire was mistakenly permitted to enter Canada without following the 14-day quarantine rule because of a decision by the Canada Border Services Agency.

It’s disgusting that these billionaires think that they can buy their way in. Before they boarded their private jet they knew Canada wasn’t open for anything other than essential travel.

I've not seen my girlfriend since july 2019. She booked a flight to move to Canada on march 23 of 2020. Unfortunately, Bill Blair decided to close the border on march 18. Since then, we are waiting for the monthly statement about the border restriction and have been disapointed so far. 6 month later, we have seen our government ignoring the mental health issues of commited couples being separated by the border restriction. Justin and Bill have shown a major lack of compassion and justice.

Committed couples want to be reunited in a safe way. We are not asking for the borders to be open. It's unjust that marriage is used to evaluate the seriousness of my relationship. NHL players and movie stars can be trusted to come into Canada but not my committed partner, why? Money? Social status? Is Canada evaluating relationship based on patriarchal ideology?

Sounds to me that if you want to come into Canada just slip the border guard a few bucks and your in. It is him or her that make the decision on who gets in and who doesn't.
