Tell 'em Jonny.
We can't leave shoes outside here - they'd be full of scorpions and venomous snakes - but they come off at the door.

Same in Canada for shoes. Except we don’t leave them outside the house for obvious weather reasons. We take them off on a “wet” area as soon as you come in. Has a rug and stuff.

In black households we have indoor and out door slippers and you must switch them at the door. My folks even kept some for guest.

Shoes should always come off at the door. Just think of all the "nasty" thinks we walk over.

I agree with the slippers. However, I agree with some of the commenters regarding critters getting in them. In my case, we have a designated area for shoes, you can either wear indoor slippers or (my fave) go barefoot while inside. No shoes passed the designated area unless they are in your closet.

As someone who is Filipino/Mexican, no slippahs (tsinelas, chanclas, flip flops) in the house, unless you want your mama to smack you with one 🩴😂

1. Shoes. Don't bring your flipflops in the house.
2. It becomes winter time where I live for 5-7 months out of the year up here. Then its raining THEN we have 3 or 4 months where it's sunny and beautiful up here. Some of us don't have roofs on our porches either We are poor lol I wish it was like Hawaii all year round up here!

Bro ive been to hawaii. I have seen some shit with cars. Ex, a tacoma truck DRIVING OVER A MINI VAN!!!! Why? Idk, it wasnt the trucks mini van it never came back, it just treated that van like it was a hill. Van got towed later that day. It was insane.

Flips/slippers are in fact left at the door. Not outside fully no but you step in, close the door, remove flips, enjoy home barefoot and cozy. Its nasty cause your feet are sweaty in those shoes and track dirt everywhere and most homes in Hawaii have hardwood floors. If it has carpet you taking those shoes off before you step foot inside and put then in the shoe cubby.
