2:43 Really cool how you were able to get footage of your actual conversation with Kyle.

I think swapping the speaker and battery could have been the ticket especially with the high quality small speakers that are out there. Also you could probably down clock the cpu in the raspberry pi since it's overpowered for PS1 and squeezed more playtime out of a 1000 - 1200 mah battery sitting where the speaker now lives. That being said, you all did a great job designing this thing. I could see people using this board with 3D printed shells to replicate this project and tweaking the design to perfect a great concept.

Is it possible to revisit this mod to add the round screen and more battery? That will be wild

Fascinating build. I would be very tempted to sacrifice one of these rare controllers for the job & your use of a prebuilt battery controller was neat, I have a bunch of those exact controllers in my parts bin. Well done, it’s a great device.
FYI: 9:20 the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 is a standalone SBC, not a compute module.

Would love to see this built from original PS1/PSP parts à la the Frogboy

Ever think how wild it is that this Pi powered contraption runs a bright screen and emulation off a rechargeable battery but the Sega Game Gear ate up 6batteries in an hour. What a time to be alive.

Honestly making a new shell with all the stuff in mind would be a better strategy. But then you already have a PSP or Vita to play PS1 games.

I think I what I need is a 10 hour compilation of Tito soldering with the background music. I would leave it up instead of a fake fireplace for the entire holidays

I gotta say I really like the speaker placement lol. It may sound weird but that's such a 90s thing. It really completes the look.

The remixed intro music was class! I feel like you missed an opportunity for a little in-joke by not having the Lynx at 1:30 jump ever-so-slightly to the left!

as a note, they make router bits with bearings on them that you can adjust. you use the current lip as a guide, and it'll never go past that point. look into it, it would make a lot of trimming projects MUCH cleaner and easier.

Not having MediEvil OST in this is a big missed opportunity

That intro was FIRE! Loved how the theme music kicked in.

Honestly, this is not fair. I should have to pay for this type of high quality content…..and the theme music is chill as heck.
