There are better services than Dropbox and iCloud. Sync and pCloud have been our favorite contenders for years because of their interesting sharing and syncing features and security approach. In this battle royal we show you our favorite of the two.

Oh yes I forgot. I use Linux and sync does not have a linux client which is another negative regarding this otherwise excellent service. I have to use Windows 10 when using Sync. I could use the web based interface but pcloud does a much better job and has a linux client as well.

pcloud works as a virtual external 2TB hard drive.so it doesnt keeps anything local except if you choose so.you should mention that as this is a great advantage and the reason I bought a lifetime plan.

I know with pCloud it acts like an external hard drive so it does not use up your hard drive space. Can Sync do the same, if not, is it possible to link Sync to an external hard drive on a router so it uses up that hard drive space rather than using the native computer hard drive?

If you’re this privacy conscious, you’d probably be on Linux, which a rep told me today that it is a long while yet down the roadmap for sync.com. That’s an instant fail for me.

You can stream both your music & videos from PCloud but not Sync. PCloud is my choice for those features alone.

Got pcloud yesterday strictly for music storage and streaming, and it works like a charm. 2fa would be nice so im hoping they add this in the future.

One thing that wasn't covered in this video is cross-platform compatibility; pCloud supports Linux, whereas Sync does not.


For me, the option to purchase lifetime support was very crucial. I'm not a fan of the monthly subscription model because it's a big drain on finances and you have to be careful how many subscriptions you get yourself into. So, I really appreciate their lifetime plan.


Sync's security is undeniably better, but I'm willing to buy their Crypto capabilities.

I used to be a pcloud user, but somehow the app doesn't really work on my Mac anymore. can't access a plethora of images anymore. gotta check sync.com now

I bought 2T lifetime with crypto, unfortunately when I download an important Excel file from crypto folder, there’s message pop up: “Download failed, your file may be corrupted”. I lost those very important data at the end.

Lifetime plan is attractive, the only thing I concern is how long will the company be existed? pCloud has 8 millions user after 6 six years operation.

Hi, I have been using hard disks all my life to store & backup my files. But knowing hard disks are difficult to rely on, why can't I just buy a subscription from Google Drive and use that for storing my backups in place of pCloud or Sync?
