This tutorial is a follow-up to a previous video "How To Split Pictures For Instagram // Seamless Multi-Post Tutorial". I'm using Adobe Photoshop to create this multi-picture collage effect but you should be able to use most photo editors. These types of posts can help you stand out and increase your engagement on Instagram.

The collage example at the start is from Della Frederickson, go show her some love!

Theres actually an even simpler way to slice your picture. You can make 1 single slice that covers the entire canvas, then right click on the slice icon in the top left of your picture, and divide slice, then you type into how many divisions youd want to slice your picture into. That requires no grids, no precision and no math. You just have to make sure your canvas dimensions are spot on. Hope that helps anyone who reads this.

This needs to be explained by an Indian guy, American and westerners have a penchant for making things more complex than they ought to be

Didn’t see a comment here on this technique. But I figured out after trying this video. If you slice select the whole image and right flick (or two finger tap) after it’s snapped to the two vertical edges. Right click and say divide slice. Can just say divide into 2, 3, 4, etc depending on your pixel dimensions it should be perfect.

Hey Dunna! Love your videos and how you deliver your educational content. Just a photoshop tip, when determining the size of your canvas, you can actually just type 1080*5 for the width, then change the 5 to whichever number of pictures you want. Saves you on some of the math you have to do.

FYI,
For the slices you can try this, since you already had grids on, you can go back grides and clear the existing grid. Now make a new grid but this time around don't choose the horizontal grid, just choose the vertical one, on how many you want (for this video it's 5). Now go to the slice tool and in the above toolbar, you have an option called slice from guides and voila. You have your slices cut without zooming it for each slice.

Technically speaking, we didn’t have to do any math. You just did it all for us. Thank you!

Epic tutorial! 👍👍👍 First time i did a collage for Instagram, I felt like it took me forever to get it done. This is very straight forward & simple, & took me little to no time at all. 😍

Hey! To solve your slicing question, there is a "slice from guides" button right under the 3D and View menus at the top of the screen. Hope that helps!

As someone else said, you can do new guide layout and set the number. BUT then when you select the slice tool, there is a button in the top panel that says "slice from guides" (or something close to that) and it will slice right on all your guide lines so you don't have to manually try to slice right on the 1080 lines, it does it automatically for you.

Sweet! This is awesome, Thanks man! For setting the columns, I think you can do that by going to View->New Guide Layout and make sure the "Columns" is checked and set the number to 5 🍻

Not sure if anyone mentioned it as Ive not read all the comments, but PS will also do the math for you, you can do 1080x5 on a calculator, or in the dimensions box type 1080*5 and PS will do it for you.
