This is the Q&A for Genki Lesson 4

Genki 1 Lesson 4 introduces you to the polite Japanese past tense. It gives VERY little detail and refers you back to lesson 3.
As I said in the last lesson, conjugating verbs into the polite tenses in Japanese is actually very simple. Genki makes it far more complicated than necessary, so I will go ahead and make it simple!

So today I will cover the rules for Japanese polite conjugation ONE MORE TIME, and how they apply to the polite Japanese past tense, and past negative tense.

I will also cover the past tense of desu (です) and jyanai (じゃない),
as well as the use of あります vs います, describing where things are in Japanese, the different uses of と, some uses of も, expressions of quantity in Japanese like たくさん, and more!

I'm startling Kanji with Kanji Tamago in September. (It's the course book) what do you think of this book? Would you recommend any other books/ websites/apps to complement my learning?
