Transformers: Age of Extinction is a 2014 American science fiction action film based on the Transformersfranchise. It is the fourth installment of the live-action Transformers film series, the first film in the sequel trilogy and the stand-alone sequel to 2011's Dark of the Moon, taking place five years after its events. Like its predecessors, it was directed by Michael Bay and written by Ehren Kruger, with Steven Spielberg and Bay as executive producers. It stars Mark Wahlberg. It is the first film in the series to feature a new cast of human characters and many new Transformers, including the Dinobots. The film was released on June 27, 2014, in IMAX and 3D.

This scene gets criminally little credit for the inclusion for a Psittacosaurus and feathered dinosaurs, including the speculated omnivorous diet of ceratopsids. The Psittacosaurus even makes bird calls, which was a cute little touch 👌

While the film is agreeably not the best, I can say the opening is very good. I love how instead of uplifting music, we are instead greeted to about 2 whole minutes of dead silence, nothing but ambience. They did a good usage of the nothing is scarier trope

Cool detail the Creators' hand is the same design, except being organic of course, as the Dynasty of Primes hands. Meaning in this continuity the Creators or obviously the Quintessons modeled the Primes in their own image. The Dynasty of Primes heads do resemble Quintessons' faces, especially The Fallen's.

This intro scene is really good in retrospect. The discovery of a giant metal dinosaur, and the Quintessons harvesting the dinosaurs to make Transformers? Damn.

I actually like this movie. It´s the best of the worse. By just the opening scene you can tell they at least tried to make something different, untill, like in every other TF movie, an artifact that can destroy the world shows up and has to be retrieved. Also, this movie has the best music of all 5 Bayverse films. I Used to play Fractured Space with no music so I could play Dinobot Charge on repeat.

When I was a kid, I hated the opening scene because they exterminated the dinosaurs. Growing up, this became one of my favorite scenes from the movie, so brilliant and terrifying.

You know, there's something interesting about that scene where The Last Knight was missing. What if the Dinobots were on Earth this whole time trying to protect Earth from the Quentessons (which I nicknamed the Creators as a reference) during the KT Mass Extinction Event, and they’re one of the knights of Cybertron exploring the galaxy protecting each planet before the Autobot/Decepticon war? It sounds kinda cool, right?
