Laptop Hibernates On Its Own... Yes, You Can Fix It

This laptop is hibernating immediately after it boots up. Right after I log in, the computer hibernates or goes to sleep. The computer goes to sleep right after I log in. Don't worry I got you, it is a simple fix but could be 2 parts.

The laptop is reading the battery wrong and is putting the computer into hibernation based on your power settings.

The other issue could be a corrupt sector on your hard drive. Run a chkdsk /r /f in an elevated command prompt, then reboot. After that is done run a sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt. If you are still getting messages about a corrupt hard drive then you will need to get yourself a new one.

The power settings was already set to “do nothing”. But if I ever run into this problem on a family member or friends laptop. I will keep this video memorized!

I found that my laptop hibernates by its own because of inactivity for a specific time. To turn it off go to Control Panel=>Power Options=>Change Plan Settings=>Change advanced power settings=>Sleep=>Hibernate after=>Set it to 0.

Omg after struggles for 2 days looks like my laptop's hibernation prpblem has now been solved by that critical battery setting.. thanks a lot 🙏🏻 tech experts werent of help too coz it didn't hibernate in front of them 😅

mine is from "Critical Battery Action" and I can only choose either Hibernate or Shutdown. also checkdisk didn't worked either.

I'm running windows through bootcamp on my old mac with a dead battery and i couldn't figure out what caused it and it took about 2 whole months for me to find this damn video and fix it and it feels so damn good. The main reason I've gone this many days without fixing it is because if i played graphically intensive games(i mean it doesn't handel much other than l4d2 and warthunder), it wouldn't hibernate
