I wanted to do this as a FULL STORY right away. But basically YouTube's recommends I keep everything around 15 minutes. So thats what we're doing. If this does super well we'll rush out the other two parts, otherwise here's your Friday series for awhile!

One of the things about Secret Invasion was that it gave Marvel the opportunity to bring back a couple of characters. Spiderwoman had lost her powers so this was a good way to power her back up. Mockingbird had been killed so now it could be explained that it was really a Skrull imposter that died. Problem with that though is that "Mockingbird" didn't revert to Skrull form after she died.
Of course that's simply because when Mockingbird died back in the nineties the idea of Secret Invasion wasn't even a thought yet.
To add to the confusion, the "Mockingbird" that stepped off the Skrull ship in the Savage Land, who truly believed she was the real Mockingbird, states that she'd been held captive by the Skrulls for a year even though in real time it had been 15 years or so since the real Mockingbird had apparently been switched out for a Skrull imposter.
Ah comic book time...and continuity...such a nuisance.

Here's a thing that should have been expanded on.
At the end of Secret Invasion the abducted characters are rescued from a Skrull prison ship. The characters that had been held captive on that Skrull prison ship didn't seem the worst for wear when they were released. Some of them had been held captive for a year or more (comic book time, not real time) They all just settled back into their lives as though nothing much had happened.
But what did happen on that prison ship? Were they free to roam about the ship? Were they held in stasis? Were there attempts to escape? There's a story there that Marvel failed to explore.

Man, I'm so excited for Secret Invasion to stream in Disney+ on June 21. I recently bought the full comic volume of Secret Invasion, and I haven't read it yet. I'm definitely going to read the full volume of Empyre next.
