Hey SSundee, I very much appreciate you addressing things, rather than just ignoring them. The server’s new skyblock mode looks very cool, I joined it myself and looked around too and was very impressed. Thank you very much for removing the crates from your server, very few servers end up doing so and it’s extremely admirable. Your staff is right in that it's an industry norm across servers, and even other games to feature lootboxes/crates, which is the main thing I’ve actively advocated against in minecraft, as obviously gambling is extremely harmful, especially when those participating are not adults. You mentioned at 15:45 “when you spend money on the store, you know exactly what you are going to get”, and that’s exactly the type of ethical monetisation on servers I promote (its the same monetisation my server has too). I think this is a great way to go about it, as removing the deception that comes with crates, removes almost all of the harms server monetisation has.

On pay-to-win, you are entirely right about it being a difficult topic, and any server owner knows that you basically need to be pay to win, in order to remain functional. The problem I personally had with your server was never that it was pay to win, but that it had pay to win gambling (which I mentioned in my videos). There is absolutely nothing wrong with being pay to win, minecraft servers are extremely expensive, that’s unavoidable, but having pay to win crates, is actively harmful to the servers' significant number of young players, and is something servers don’t need to survive.

I never believed you were “money hungry” either, I’d played many of your older servers such as titanmc, and had great experiences I still cherish on them, I know you actually care about your servers, moreso then most other youtubers, and this video just proves it.

One final thing I want to point out is what you mentioned at 22:00. I agree with you that “attacking the server”, is probably not the best way to get server owners to listen, but the issue is, most server owners will never truly listen until they get significant backlash/negative publicity. The goal with the duping videos, was never to actually “damage” the servers economy/gamemodes (i’ve made videos in the past talking about how this never happens), but rather to use such videos to vocalise complaints and issues I, and many others had with the servers monetisation. The duping videos are great for that, in that they always perform well and as such get the most attention, and thus are most likely to cause actual change. And obviously I’m not going to pretend that I’m also not doing it because I know it will be an entertaining video that will perform well, at the end of the day youtube is my job, but I truly do care about the minecraft multiplayer landscape, and want it to improve.

Even though there is always a divide between the YouTuber persona and the actual person behind the mask, you can tell that SSundee behind the mask is almost exactly the same funny, love able, caring, prankster that he is on YouTube. I do respect you talking about the issue and trying to make it clear you havent abandonded this server without attacking the people who thought you did and make it clear youre not looking at this for money but also explained that this is something that doesnt come cheap and I saw a video a while ago that not many people bring up is when you saw the original prices of stuff and said "Yeah were gonna fix that way too expensive (Paraphrasing)" and I think that showed where your head was with this issue and future issues for the server

2: Premium items being obtainable through other means. There are servers that have oppressive advantages that make it impossible to FTP

Things that work great:
kits that give like a 1.25x-1.5x xp multiplier voucher. Not like 3-5x unless it's also obtainable elsewhere (ex. a mob drops it that is accessable). It's appealing due to the recursive nature of kits.
cosmetics: anything that looks really cool, particle based wings are popular, skins for weapons. Make sure that it is not obstructive in pvp though. (make it toggle-able in settings for those with lower end PCs that can't handle it or think that it gets in the way of gameplay.)

Things to avoid:
exclusive shop to donors
weapons/armor that you can't get otherwise (extends to weapons/armor that take hundreds of hours to obtain, meet in the middle at like an 8hr shortcut).
multiplier vouchers that are impossible to obtain without being obtainable elsewhere. These being preferably in PVE zones, nobody wants to be oppressed by someone who has a time advantage due to donating and then being unable to receive those same benefits.

wager fights
(it may be wise to divide it into tiers to keep super progressed individuals away from people who just joined)
