Marvin Gaye wrote this one. He's in the background vocals as well.

There was a time when you really felt what they were singing about.Another soulful rendition was done by After 7 in the 80s.

😍 Oh wow!...I ❤ The Originals!..Super Golden and Smooth. Thanks Just Jammin... this song instantly takes me back to being 5 years old again...memories being with my mom and aunt driving into downtown Los Angeles in my grandma's 65' Buick Skylark...which my husband & I now own, and will soon be restoring it to its original beauty. I can't wait for our first cruise- to play all the songs that remind me of the Buick back in the day... starting with this song, The Originals other hit- "The Bells", Jr.Walker &The All Stars' - "What Does it Take to Win Your Love", and Aretha Franklin's "Until You Come Back to Me". ✌

They were primarily back up singers and performed on a lot of Motown hits. Late 60s early 70s R&B are the best love song genre (IMHO) - which makes it sexy AF

They had no hits until Marvin Gaye wrote this song and the song The Bells. They mostly did back up for other Motown groups.

They would play this song at a certain time every morning on my local radio station. I would always find a reason to leave class and listen to it on my little transistor radio. Written and produced by Marvin Gaye & his then-wife Anna Gordy Gaye

One of My favorites in High School around 1973. Great slow dance song. Freddie Gorman was great.

Thank you for playing this song. I toured with them for 13 years and it was an Honor.

I've always considered this to be doowop's last gasp. It's not pure doowop, but doowop's DNA is all through this. Written and produced by Marvin Gaye.
