QGIS lesson 03 – Downloading Natural Earth data

In this video I will show you where to download free GIS Natural Earth data from and how to bring it into QGIS.

• Downloading cultural and physical 1:10m data
• Organise these files on your computer
• Importing Natural Earth data into QGIS
• Changing CRS projection

For anyone that can't find the "Google Mercator" option on a PC, there is a simple and similar solution. Type "Mercator" in the "Filter." Then, search and select "Popular Visualisation CRS Mercator." This should provide the same outlook.

Hi Steven! Thank you for the tutorial, but I'm struggling to find information on how to customised my orthographic view, Im trying to make a sinocentric/east asia centered globe map but the projections only come in 2 set locations, may i know if there's a fix to this? Thank you!

Dear Steven, thanks for the video. I have two questions: 1.the command shift + P can not work for me to bring the projection screen. However, is that possible to adjust the projection from project menu and then project properties? 2. when I type google Mercator from the CRS, I can not able to find it. Even it is not possible to find the EPSG of 900913. Thanks for your help!!!!
