Edu has secured long-term contracts for top players, gotten rid of high-paid but troublesome players (Ozil, Auba) and worked well with Arteta. Those who see only flaws in him because they didn't get a Christmas present should look at the transfer and contracting of many other PL clubs. Edu's departure is a loss.

Keown is a club legend at Arsenal but he seldom objectively critiques the club. Edu was inexperienced and was average as a technical director.

Do Arsenal under value their background staff? Did Edu even have a contract? Since it is unusual that someone is able to resign one position and immediately start working somewhere else without compensation being paid or without having to give notice.
Also going from Arsenal to Nottingham Forest and co wouldn't be considered an advancement unless he was getting paid more.
