If I lowered my car anymore than factory I'd be changing oil pans daily. You could legit find smoother dirt roads than the paved ones in my area. One of my buddies fell into a pothole last week, he just sent me a video. He's still falling.

I started watching you when I got my license many years ago when i had a mazda, but now have a DC5r. Great to see that you're still loyal to the mazda gang!

I made of the mistake of doing all the cheap silly mods first before doing coils/sway bars etc and I regret it. The car is 100x more fun on any sort of windy road and even day to day driving now that I’ve done my suspension, motor mounts etc.

This video is exactly what I was looking for. Just bought my used daily 3 and already having fun driving it while addressing small issues, but have been looking to the future by installing reasonable upgrades. That tip about the Mazda 6 wheels is clutch and I plan on following your list/advice to the letter

This is exactly the video I was looking for. Engine upgrades? Not easy, not worth it. Handling...focus on the handling. Great advice. Thanks for the insight.

All I did was secondary cat delete and short ram intake and rear sway bar and it already feels so much faster! It’s the 2012 2.5 hatch if you’re wondering! Next thing to do is muffler delete and coil overs! If you’re wondering why I’m not modifying the speed3 it’s because I don’t feel like dealing with turbos and all that extra stuff. I just want a nice reliable quick daily that’s good on gas. I use to daily a 630HP 335i and for all the new guys in the car scene it’s better to have fun with useable reliable power then unusable power and filling up at the gas station every two days.

Dang! Loved this video. Could you please show us a short video what is "2 cat delete and a muffler delete" to get the sound like yours?

I appreciate the advice! I have my "new" 2007 2.0 5 speed manual at my mechanic right now getting looked at to make sure it's safe for road trips and whatnot (it needs a new clutch, but other than that it seems to run strong). I do plan on getting a set of wheels and tires, a new stereo head unit, installing cruise control (it's an i model with everything manual), and I'll eventually get coilovers. I did not know about the rear sway bar and the motor mount, and I'll definitely have to look into getting those done!

Wished I did these things first instead of all the small stuff first; all I have in this list are wheels and an exhaust... Currently saving to fix my dented quarter panel, but after that I'll save up for springs and shocks.

This is great, thank you from a new mazda3 fan. I was already down this path so it's good to see someone with experience recommending them. One thing though, about the no more power available, I see chips available that claim 40 to 60 hp gains but the forums have very mixed reviews - either totally worthless or an amazing improvement. Do you have any experience?

You didn't specify what generation of Mazda 3 but if it's a gen 1 or gen 2, upgrading the head unit/interior is certainly a good mod (even if it doesn't affect performance). I recently replaced the muffler on my 2012 2.0 with a Magnaflow but now considering deleting 2nd cat as well. Is it super loud in the cabin?

Would coilovers be a bad idea if you live in Minnesota or does it not really matter?

have a 2010 hatch and all i did was put it on coils add an arctic camo wrap made from left over white and black sample i got for free off a guy i did some photos for. some wind deflectors, blacked the tails, topped with rally armou mudlfaps and the car got complimented all the time. i hated it because i knew how little i had put into it compared to everyone else lol. 9 years later and my car is pretty much destroyed, and im looking to get another lol. if you ever find yourself on the coq then you might find my side skirt somewhere in the trees, blew off on the highway.

Did you say RX8 wheels? 🧐😎 am eyeing a 2005 Mazda 3 2.0... I absolutely love the RX8 tho but for now, as a first car, its not an option yet and cant afford one yet. So am going for the 3 ...

Awsome video. I recently brought a 2018 mazda3 (sedan, not hatchback) and I have no plans to ever sell this car so i want to make it as fun to drive as possible and your video was the closest thing I found to helpful. I was wondering if all the mods you said would still work on this newer model since I truly want to make feel special when driving
