I saw an interview with Dennis Doherty a long time after they broke up. He said that when the record label they were on was bought quite a few years after the break up the accountants found that had not been paid all the royalties coming to them. The new company paid it to them. He said in hindsight it was fortunate. The money was enough that he could live comfortably for the rest of his life and if he had gotten it when he should have it would all have gone up his nose and in his arm.

My mom passed away in 2018 a few days before her 66 birthday. Growing up I didn’t really like her music, except for California dreaming. I always really liked that song. In the years she’s been gone, I’ve found a new appreciation for her taste in music. I always find myself listening to something and it brings me back to my childhood where she’s playing the exact song. I miss you, mom. I love you and you had great taste in music.
