Shell Stitch Crochet Pattern - How to Crochet a Shell Stitch - Crochet Tutorial

Shell stitch crochet patterns are pretty, aren't they? Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. In this video I show you how to make this very pretty and colorful shell stitch crochet pattern, which works up fast and easy for a scarf and blanket.

This stitch pattern reminds me of the arcade or the arch stitch a little bit too. This crochet pattern consists primarily of single crochet and double crochet stitches. For this sample I'm using worsted weight yarn and a size H 5 mm crochet hook. Feel free to adjust your hook or yarn size to your liking.

First time crocheter here! 🙋🏼‍♀️ My project is kinda bumpy and curves instead of laying flat. Is this because I have too much tension on my yarn or is it because I need a bigger hook for my yarn size? (I'm using an 8mm hook on chunky yarn). Thanks!
