Probably dinner, a few glasses of wine and maybe a Jacuzzi...

What's wrong with just admitting that we have no clue?

Asking the question is like asking "What happened before time began?" Without time there is no space, and without time and space there are no events.

This whole thing is a paradox. We will probably never know and everything will be speculation. Unless some other supernatural being or intelligent species that is way more superior in knowledge than the human race can explain the Universe to us its all up in the air. Makes you realise how special and important you are to be alive today, right this secound. Theres this whole Universe and you're alive on planet earth with one life. Man.. I should go bed

Dinner, a movie, some wine, then the Big Bang....at least to the best of my recollection, after all, it was a long time ago.😄

Even string theory and quantum physics break down. Best answer she gave? "We don't know..."

Finally, a short summary of the options.
And not an hour long documentary that never deals with the question.

How many "Big Bangs" have there been? One? A hundred billion? How many universes are there...One or a hundred billion? We don't know a damn thing about the "why" or the "what". And, I suspect, that is the way it is supposed to be.

Perhaps when we check out we will get a BIG surprise...but maybe not. Life is a box of chocolates for some, and a scoop shovel of horse manure for others. Kay sera sera.

The big bang is merely nothing more than a reference to the furthermost point in time us humans can work with. so maybe not quite the bang we think of, it could be anything from the start of time itself, our universe may be merely an equivalent of a small microscopic virus inside a larger picture. this is why i find astronomy so interesting, there is endless learning and theories and always something to surprise us. Is there life other than us, we dont know and if so i dont think we will know in this cycle of life on this planet. but still fascinates me.

The logic of the ideas of Multiverses makes the most sense whether longitudinal or lateral conceptually. Black holes take us out side that box that defines the continuum between this universe and the rest.

What was there before the big bang?
I didn't know before watching this and still don't know at the end of the video.
You got me on this one. Thanks

For this subject I suggest PBS Spacetime.

The audio is overmodulated, isn't it?

Would the bubble effect on the cosmic microwave background only be visible if a collision occurred at the beginning since that's how old the radiation is? Plus, I don't think it's definite that a collision has to have occurred if other universes exist. They might not of course.
