the fact that she sung all her songs live during filming is just so admirable. Her voice is so incredible it sends shivers throughout my body, i'm sure all her fellow actors were enthralled whenever she sung. Loved it!!

This was the Best scene of the film. Rachel Zegler COMMANDED the screen, she is pure talent! Truly one of the best moments of Cinema in 2023!

Ballad wouldn’t have worked without a musical theatre actress playing Lucy Gray, and Rachel was PERFECT for the role. Her performance in this scene is literally Oscar-worthy, her crescendo carried the whole thing and it made me SOB when I saw it in the theater. And then, there’s James Newton Howard’s score to top it all off. SPECTACULAR!

I knew that they wouldnt show all the songs from the book in the movie due to the time constraint but i thought they handled the songs pretty well by including them in key scenes like this

What made this scene so fuckin beautiful was she didn't know if she was gonna live.. She took her chance.. She surrendered to death.. But she wasn't gonna go out quietly.. The visuals of her being wrapped in snakes.. Is just amazing!!!

Also the hate for her is so blown out of proportion.. She's amazing and talented!

This song is symbolic to the endless suffering that the hunger games causes. It’s a song saying, “no matter how many times you try to kill our spirits, we will ALWAYS fight. Until our dying breath, when I’m flat on the floor. We will always be here fighting for our freedom.” It’s so tragic. So many pointless death’s to the hunger games. It’s so heartbreaking.

I think this was a great example of how to use song and singing as a storytelling tool. Because the way Rachel's voice and performance evolves from fear to plea to confidence to triumph is just some epic cinema.
