One million new homes for one million immigrants. Well done Government.

bringing in the thousands of illegal immigrants does not help the housing situation, nor sending billions of dollars to Ukraine.

Will this be combined with lower immigration? No point in building new homes if local people can’t afford them.

He'll do nothing to solve ANY crisis, no politician ever does.

I live in Derby, I've never seen so many new properties being thrown up, Eamon is right about the conversion of former city centre shops to apartment blocks, one major problem for the residents of the city is the buy to let landlords renting to the government for illegal migrant accommodation while first time buyers still simply can't afford even these rabbit hutch size apartments

Hold up, with our 15 minute cities don’t we need shops nearby

Gove should build them on his own property.

British workers need the shops, and there should be a clamp down on big American corporates taking over our retail sector. You only have to look at every town in the US to see where our country is headed if we do not have small businesses. They are the lifeblood of communities and provides us with an economy. If money doesn't roll in there will be no money for essential services, - people will move abroad and Britain will be a country full of prayer mats and not much else.

Here we go: Smart cities for the prison they have planned. Nobody lives in the countryside and we are controlled by all things SMART.

Gove and Starmer should form a new party called the Flip Flop party.

There is no shortage of homes in cities if you kick out the speculators and banks and make them affordable. Building more just gives the bankers more cash to buy politicians.

If the Government chased up Amazon to pay it's fair whack in tax, like they do with any other 'small' business, it would have a lot more money to spend on housing stock. And who will benefit from these new proposed homes; immigrants and immigrant landlords. Same old same old.

I live in Kent and have dramatically see the countryside up here decline due to the amount of houses being built we will all end up living in a concrete jungle with no countryside left
And building houses where shops should be is a ridiculous idea
Instead of putting houses there why not put better shops in high streets where people want to actually shop
Every high street has the same shops
We needs shops back like c and a
Woolworths

You won’t solve the housing crisis by keeping net migration at over 500, 000.

Reduce the demand for housing to protect the environment. Greenhouse gas emissions are counteracted by trees, so border control will help with this. Less people more trees ✌️ 🌳

We dont need more houses, we need less people. 600k net immigrants in 2022 alone. Close the borders and the housing crisis goes away.
We can not build a new city every year to house the world, we can not concrete over the countryside

Gobbildy Gook! We have a county development plan. Two years ago the county council refused planning permission on greenbelt land because the development fell outside their own county wide development plan. This is despite unprecedented building permission already being granted. The council were taken to the High Court and the developers won. So what really is the point of any of these If your going to develop you have to start insisting on builders putting more into social housing development. Starter homes [farcical term] are even well beyond the average pocket
