I bought a little plinker for garden shooting recently. I do wood carving and I really wanted to make a stock as I used to be a competition shooter when I was a teenager. I found that going for a jack of all trades really is a master of none. Go for comfort in your preferred shooting position. This video has been very helpful, lots of useful information. Nice input. Your rifle is like your pet. The dog is the cheap part. I stick mostly with factory stocks due to the cost I've incurred with just a couple custom stocks.

I like McMillan stock design. Decided to upgrade my sks carbine stock to McMillan grip comfort. Found the fiberglass Jungle stock from Vietnamese/Chinese sks, and started the process stock remodeling. Almost done with project. Some final steps left including the stock finishing.

I'm mostly a hunter, but I discovered the tactical style stock when I bought a Springfield waypoint in 6.5prc. The 6.5prc gun stock is adjustable. The stock on the gun and the accuracy of the gun is why I bought another in 308. I feel no need to raise the stock; they are perfect for me.

Have an H&S A5 and just got in a Boyd’s A5 style with adjustable comb that I’m probably gonna have them bedded for my 300wsm.

After a lot of rifles and stocks I’ve landed on manners eh1 for hunting and krg whiskey 3 for tactical

Whats your recommendation based on vertical style grip and weight? Looking to get a howa 1500 7 PRC barreled action and get a lightweight stock. Im a big fan of more vertical grips

The best rifle stock is the old Roberts High Comp roll over with Palm swell. It controls recoil the best of any stock design.

I definitely need to get a solid Bolt action rifle . Haven't decided on what cartridge I wanna go with yet . I've been leaning towards 300 WSM . I'm definitely going to spec out my own rifle . I have not shot enough Bolt actions to know which one i will like the best . So I'm definitely going to do shitload of research..
