I'll be damned! I'm 45 and have been trying to find a simple way to roll up a cord that doesn't get bundled up my entire life! U
And all it took was a simple YouTube video!
Thank you Sir!

Roadie Wrap! I've been doing this for a few years now, and you're right, once you get the muscle memory, it comes naturally.

Looked this up because I'm about to coil up my 50 ft extension cord I believe this is the way I do it but over time after it gets shifted around it still gets Tangled the best way to wrap an extension cord is to pay $20 for one of those rollers to put it in

I feel like I've just witnessed a "burning bush."
For almost sixty years, I've struggled with this.
I've just purchased a new pool cleaning robot and can now wind up the cord, without it dragging across the cement deck, shortening it's life. I'm certain the old method helped add to my old bot's demise.
I can't wait to try this with my X'mas lights.

If the cord is hard to wind, lay it across grass, then wind it. The wires will straighten when pulled

Over-over vs over-under has been a long debate. Movie sets use over-over for power cord. The one thing that is not debatable is the winding. It is always clockwise, never counter clockwise.

I don't like throwing the male end like that, eventually breaking the prongs off

I am obviously an idiot as I don’t get it….for me it needs to show the hand more and to me it looks like he just uses all fingers then one or two fingers

One thing he omitted, he is using a trained electrical cord. Anyone who learns this for the first time will be an owner of untrained cords. I stretched out my 75 metre cord first before I tried this. If I did not do this it would be difficult because the cord would not behave. A shorter cord is probably better for beginners.
Once you get the hang of it there is an advantage in having a long electrical cord.
Best start with a short electrical cord, then when you have the technique a long one is great for practice. The more you do it also the more your cord will become trained. Consequently the easier it gets. Well trained individual. Well trained cord.

YES LOOKS LIKE YOU USING A NEWER "SOFT THIN CORD" IT'S EASY WITH THAT, WHAT ABOUT AN OLDER THICKER CORD THAT TWISTS WITH EVERY MOVEMENT. I COULD NOT DO THIS WITH THIS OLDER
