Piano Lessons for Beginners: Part 3 - More important chords you should know

Did you just buy your first keyboard and have no idea how to get started? Then you've come to the right place! In this mini-series I'm going to cover all of the basic concepts and teach you how to jumpstart your piano or keyboard playing career. Emphasis is on practical lessons with real-life applicability, aimed at pop/rock musicians.

In this video we'll be expanding your chord vocabulary by adding five new chords! You've already learned C, F, Am and G. Now we're going to add Em, E, A, Dm and Fm. Put together you will now have a pretty impressive arsenal of chords that can be used to play many many popular songs.

Next lesson we'll take a closer look at your left hand and discuss left hand bass notes.

1. E major - E (base) : Ab B E
2. E minor - E(base) : G B E
3. A major - A(base) : A C# E
4. D minor - D(base) : A D F (you can play D in double octave)
5. F minor - F(base) : Ab C F (you can play F in double octave)

Total 9 chords till now (4 in first lessons and 5 here).

That chord progression example you gave at the end had me playing for an hour straight just playing with descending and ascending the base notes between the chords. So thankful for this mini series
