I have officially played all Naruto games made available in the west. Time to rank the top 10 Story Modes!

Storm 2 benefits from being based out of a particularly strong part of the series. Naruto's journey to finally becoming the hero of the village is just such a great stretch. 4 probably has better storytelling going on but the story it's centered in just drags.

Storm 2 will always have the best story out of any Naruto game to me. It’s literally the destruction of the whole akatsuki, what more can you ask for!!!!

Storm 3 is the peak for me. At least on boss fight, I don’t think any other Naruto title beating it. It had most unique boss fight with cool qte and secret action to strengthen the story. Sasuke vs Naruto and Naruto vs Kurama boss fight is always a fun fight to revisit.

Storm 2 definitely had the best story out of all Naruto games to me. The OST paired with some of the most devastating and dramatic segments from the story along with interesting boss mechanics flowed with quality on par with (in some cases even better) than the actual anime. If you don't believe me, look at both instances of the Jiraiya and Pain fight in the show and in the game, after the Paths brutally beat and pin down Jiraiya (the scripted health bar decreasing was amazing), he remembers what Naruto always said about never giving up on his goals and actually does a big Rasengan before he could accept his death (making it that much more impactful), something that wasn't in the manga or anime. Or in the case of the Sasuke and Itachi fight in the Uchiha Hideout (the shuriken clash blew my mind as a kid), especially when Itachi starts cornering you with the Susanoo, the feeling of inevitability forces you to start mashing your controller for something to do instead of backing away like throwing a kunai or going on the offensive and attempting to melee his shield with your katana. Stuff like that really made me feel as if I was put in the characters' situations.

Storm 2 has to be my favorite of all time. It covers the best part of the Shippuden story, it has some of the most memorable battles in it, like Itachi vs Sasuke and Naruto vs Pain. Although the free roam was not perfect, it did fairly well IMO considering it wasn't the focus. The cutscenes are amazing, the quick time events and even the boss battles were very challenging, I remember being stuck on specific quick time events for a while because of button mash sequences being significantly tougher back then. And the creativity envolved in those boss fights was also amazing, what more can you ask for?

It might not have had the greatest story mode, but man the music in Uzumaki Chronicles 1 and 2 had the best upbeat fighting music out of all of the other games.

Naruto Storm series, Ultimate ninja series, Rise of a ninja, Broken Bonds and Clash of Ninja Revolution series have the best story mode in the entire Naruto games series.

Gotta be storm 3 for me. It covered my least favorite part of the anime and manga and made some of the lack luster fights and story bits better. Naruto vs sasuke after the Danzo fight most notably. Storm 2 and rise of a ninja tied for a close second for me.

I'd have, personally, put Rise of a Ninja and Broken Bond at #1, and maybe even Storm 1 at #2, but that just hit me right at the right time if I'm being honest (and having just gotten into Naruto it was my first Big Open Konoha. I felt like all the other Storms were smaller afterwards, even if they were better.

The Storm games will always be superior in story and battle gameplay but man the Ultimate Ninja games have a special place in my heart. Those games on the PS2 made my childhood so much better, the free roaming aspects of some of the games are unmatched and they were also fun to play with my friends at that time.
