Reflections Webinar: UNDP Support to Empowering Marginalized Groups

Empowering marginalized people is vital to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and advance human development. But empowerment is more than just that; it is a right in itself, and a means for people’s voices to be heard, and for their choices to count.

At the UNDP Independent Evaluation Office, we want to foster dialogue about how UNDP supports the empowerment of people who are at heightened risk of discrimination and/or deprivation. This interactive webinar featured lessons from UNDP’s work in this area, scrutinizing what works, what doesn’t and why.

The webinar is followed by a discussion on the SparkBlue platform, where we invite everybody to share their views so we can collectively learn from each other’s experiences. This discussion will also contribute to the preliminary stages of our upcoming evaluation of UNDP’s integration of the “leaving no-one behind” principle.
