Bangkok can be described as a “melting pot” of diversity, but challenges remain. Political commentator, Voranai Vanijaka, dissects the cultural norms that are deeply ingrained in Thai society, which blurs people’s perception of “respect”. This was part of the Dragonfly H.E.A.L Summit 2024 which took place in October.

Thank you Nad for interviewing Khun Voranai. I used to read his columns in the Bangkok Post. He is very knowledgeable and I have learned a lot about Thailand from him. Bangkok, and the whole of Thailand, has become very diverse. She welcomes those from all around the world. This is a good thing and has benefited Thailand because it affords everyone the opportunity to learn from one another.
