Tried this hairstyle tonight for a family dinner. It was my first attempt and was a hurry. Since this hairstyle is supposed to be a bit messy, it worked, although mine didn’t turn out as neat as yours. This is about the only updo tutorial I’ve found that works for my extremely thick hair. Most tutorials only work for certain hair types so thank you for sharing this versatile and easy style.

Hi Kate, just wanted to thank you for your tips and tricks. I am 70 and always wore my hair very short until a few years ago. The only way I knew to "style " my hair was a ponytail and the inverted tail. I am so glad I found your channnel! My hair is silver and curly, well sort of. It's curly when just washed and in humidity, but otherwise relaxes in bed, (just as I do), anyway I love the messy bun and it is my go to do for times when a ponytail is too casual. Thanks again
