I cried a little because I was about to go blind because of an eye disease at age 17. I was already surrender. I knew I would go blind, but a few months before it happened I got a cornea transplant and doctors saved my eyesight.
Watching this video made me think so much. How my life would have been like. And what about everything that I would not have seen yet.

The hardest part about this is to try and close my eyes and NOT "image" something in my head.... I really want to try and "feel" that feeling of not even having a conceptual image of something. To relate to how it must feel.
It would be like me asking you to imagine never having touched anything. Never having felt your fingers EVER.. but you KNEW they are there (by sight or just by smacking your ears so you heard they were there) but you had to describe what touching the sand on the beach felt like without even acknowledging the sense of touch... Even the concept seems impossible.
It's probably been commented WAY many times; but your videos on this, really makes me cherish the things I can see. (And our vision even betrays us as well... When we're seeing a star, we're seeing it as it was millions of years ago... that took a long time to even understand for people who CAN see... Maybe you understand that much better than anyone who sees for all I know.) But thank you for sharing and letting us experience as close to blindness as we can.

Watching this made me cry. not in a bad way, or in pity. But simply the positivity radiating from this wonderful man moved me, reminding me of the little things i take for granted. Struggling with depression like i used to can make you hate the world around you, and yet this person cannot see all the suffering around him but wants to experience it with a new and fresh light. You're truly a wonderful man, and I'm glad the world gets to have your smile in it. I respect you, Tommy, with all my heart. Your positive ways remind me that life is about the little things, and teach me to slow down once in a while. Thank you, Tommy.
