I despise being stared at, especially after spending 36 years with a narc husband, and growing up with a narc dad.
Just this morning, a little girl came into the workplace with her gma, and as soon as she walked in and saw me, she said to me, "You're beautiful". She stood there and stared.
It was quite unexpected, and very sweet.
I'm someone who tries to NOT get attention. I like to hide out in the shadows really. But, those instances like the little girl today help remind me that not everyone has an ulterior motive. It sure lifted my spirits to hear it. 🙏🏻

My daughter's preschool classmates all flock to me when I come to pick her up. It took me by surprise at first but remembered a preacher that was visiting our church as a child. I was 5 or 6 and I never met him before but I loved him and didn't want to leave his side. I would sit in his lap and never wanted to be away from him. I cried buckets and was so broken hearted when he left and it brings tears to my eyes even now. I suppose it was the spirit of Jesus in him. But whenever kids or animals come to me, I know it's because I hold something special that they can see more clearly than I see in myself. God has a plan for us all.
