The shade spell skips are especially wild, since the shade decides to fireball you only one in five times if im not mistaken. It never ceases to amaze me how far speedrunners are willing to go for that sweet sweet time save x)

Every time I hear "Shade Skip" I immediately think of the time Skurry instinctively tried to set up a Shade Skip during a Steel Soul run.

Shade skips are even more useful in Steel Soul mode, I use them frequently

Fun fact: the blue lake shade skip is possible to do with nothing (no spell, no masks, no longnail, no dash, no claw)

Honestly Hollow knight speed running is like still new as they’ve only just found the pogo spells it’s like super Mario bros eventually we will get to milliseconds or even smaller till it’s almost impossible without luck

The first time I ever played Hollow Knight I accidentally got Dream Nail before even going into Green Path. Sheer determination and spite in Crystal Peaks let me drop into the area.

In my first attempt, I did the skip without having a wall jump… and then I thought the game wasn’t allowing me to get the dreamnail because the platforms weren’t spawning (turns out they just took a few seconds to spawn), and just decided to leave and come back when I’d gotten to the part of the game where I’m actually supposed to get the dream nail.
