I kinda miss the H&M Versace collab because it was actually designed by Versace FOR H&M: putting Versace into a more affordable bracket and democratizing the brand. This Mugler collab just feels clout based and seems almost like weird designer approved knockoffs which is the WRONG direction for fast fashion.

I used to work ar H&M for 1 year do NOT buy from them 95% of them treats their employees like shit and sell terrible clothing especially the white clothes

They should be ashamed, their collab jewelry was, ,Claire‘s“ level of quality (if not worse), absolutely horrendous and cheap. I’ve never worn the earcuffs I bought, they are still in their original packaging, but the coating is already flaking off…but it’s my fault for buying it.

Here’s the thing- non-fashion people have no idea what Mugler is and if they do, they likely could not tell the difference between Mainline and the H&M stuff. So it’s all the same Mugler to them.
To (real) fashion people, they see it as such a nice way to purchase similar items that are essentially Mugler. They see it as a nice alternative, because the Mainline body is not worth $500+. You get pretty much the same for $60.
Overall, they are way better quality than I expected, they are well worth their price in my opinion. You are open to have your opinion of course.

A lot of folks forget that H&M outsource their garment-making labor to factories in Vietnam or Indonesia with sweatshop-like conditions. I'm Indonesian and I have aunts who worked in those exact factories. The stories from work they tell me, man. If fair trade & ethical production are values you think as important, consider finding better quality brands that care for their workers more. If you don't, then well enjoy looking cheap & messy I guess!

The entire point of collabs is to have spirutally similar designs that are more affordable. Of course it wont be similar quality - it's like a quarter of the price.

definitely depends on the individual piece. i'm just as if not more interested in the wool & outerwear pieces in the collection which seem constructed very well

all i ever really buy from HM is basics, simple black and white essentials, sorta like calvin klein, with the exception of their jeans..

I got a couple of hoodies from this collection and let me tell you - they are probably the thickest and sturdiest 100% cotton hoodies I’ve had since early 2000s! Some stuff from this collection is actually of very good quality.

It costs atleast a 100 times the manufacturing cost. If you consider the designing, marketing, store and infantry management, employee investments, it's still 50 times higher the cost of investment. Yup 💁 that's how they make billions while leaving pennies to their employees and hard laborers.

I think the point wasn’t high fashion quality, more high fashion aesthetic, it is still H&M regardless, but the design is high fashion and the advantage for the consumer is affordability
