Making Victorian Underwear // 1890s combinations

Hello friends!
Long time no see! I, unfortunately, have been dealing with quite a few medical issues as of late which had made me a bit MIA. But don't fret for I am back with some fun content for y'all this spooky season. Oh, I forgot to mention that the pattern I used was from the Manual of needlework and cutting out by Agnes Walker along with the authentic victorian dressmaking techniques. That reprinted sewing manual was a lifesaver as before this project I knew virtually nothing about hand sewing! I hope you all are staying safe and healthy!
Hope you have a lovely Monday,

I just found your video and enjoyed it so much! The combinations turned out extra cute. And thank you for the scientific research on a question that had crossed my mind every time I watched a vid on combinations. I mean, of course ladies back then went to the bathroom as well, so obviously it had to be possible... But still I kept wondering if there was a secret superpower required for that part of everyday life...
Got to go now to check out for other videos on your channel 👋

The combination turned so prettyyyy! ♥ And obviously thank you for this very scientific and essential experiment on "the pee". I really like your videos, thank you for making them :D (And sorry if i wrote that comment wrong, i'm french and my english is probably "meh")

Maybe it is the inclusion of a Chicago reference, maybe it is the overall chaotic fun nature of the video, but I think your channel is my favorite sewing sort of channel!

One of the other reasons for the bows and ribbon is that it was fairly common to take months to make clothes like this, because the woman would have other things needing done. The loose ribbons let you make it looser, and tighten them or looser depending on your need. Unlike modern styles, these were designed for women with... Monthly swelling... Pregnancy... And other such changes that happen in life. But glad you had fun with this.

As a sewist with 3 needy cats, I felt very represented in this haha. You did a fantastic job with this project. It's beautiful!

I'm planning on making these soon and I didn't understand how I was going to use the restroom. So your scale is quite honestly the most important one. What's the point of wearing frills if you can't pee?!?!

I am seriously proud of you for not only finishing these, but also for how fantastic they look! You made me smile and laugh and who doesn't need a little emotional cat support footage?
