Making a Victorian Corset and Other Under Garments

Cute undergarments! I like the trim on the corset, it sets it off very nicely. And, yes, I like to see price breakdowns as it shows what it really takes to make these costumes even if it is from our stash.

Haven’t made it yet but I just bought the stays pattern you showed at the beginning.
Note for Victorian corsetry- if you make the bust/hips too big fear not! Some late Victorian ladies corsets had padding built into the underside of the corset (so between your undershirt/chemise) and the actual corset. Easy way to pad up and fix over side bits, gives a very defined s shape silhouette.
Also the petticoat gap lets you use a tie on pocket pouch that is hidden under the skirt/petticoat to prevent pick pockets from taking your precious coin purse and such.. the pockets can be big enough to hold a large wine bottle so they can be quite deep.

I really like the bustle pad that you made, and I really would've liked to see how you actually made it. I've seen a lot of bustle pads, and yours is the nicest looking one, by far.
